Navigator for
Manufacturing

The Time Clock Navigator shows the relationships between Time Matrix by Business
Computers Software, Inc., Manufacturing by Microsoft Great Plains, and Payroll
by Microsoft Great Plains. Red arrows show time
transactions. Green arrows show lookups.
Yellow descriptions show data table names.
The Time Clock uses employees entered in Payroll for lookups and verification.
The Time Clock uses MOs, Sequences, and Labor Codes entered in Manufacturing for
lookups and verification. The Time Clock looks at the actual Manufacturing data
tables. Making a change in Manufacturing is immediately reflected in the Time
Clock.
Upon an employee changing a MO or clocking out of the Touch Screen Time Clock, a
time transaction is sent to the Logbook. The Logbook stores all employee actual
time transactions. The Logbook posts production time to Manufacturing Data
Collection. Great Data Collection posts production time transactions to
Payroll. The Logbook posts non-production time to Payroll Transaction Entry.
The Employee check processing is completed in Payroll.
The Time
Clock Navigator can be used to access programs in Time Matrix, Manufacturing,
and Payroll. Clicking on a button will bring up that form. For example,
clicking on the Maintenance button in Payroll will bring up the Employee
Maintenance window. This is the same result as Cards>>Payroll USA>>Employees.
Clicking on the Logbook Employee button will bring up the Employee Control
Center. The Time Clock Navigator makes it easy to start programs and to view
their relationships.
